Canadian Base Operators Inc. awarded 10 Year, $157M Site Support Services Contract at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford, Ontario

The 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4 CDTC) Meaford was the first military installation in Canada to be wholly contracted to a civilian service provider for all facilities maintenance, operations and logistics support services. 4 CDTC Meaford is a training facility for Canadian Forces Regular and Reserve soldiers in Ontario, non-military agencies as well as, military units from a variety international countries.

The facility consists of 40 fully serviced buildings (600,000+ square feet), and 100+ un-serviced minor buildings and miscellaneous range structures, including: ammunition storage, barracks, fire-hall, mess halls, maintenance facility, sewage and water treatment plants, supply, lecture buildings, office buildings and recreation.

Canadian Base Operators Inc. (CBO) was awarded the first Alternative Services Delivery (ASD) contract in 1995. The first term of this new agreement is 10 years plus 10 option years for a potential of 20 years and total value of $315M+. If fully optioned CBO’s presence at 4 CDTC Meaford would extend well past 40 years.

CBO provides full-service operations support and maintenance services at 4 CDTC Meaford and as the Prime Contractor, CBO is responsible for overseeing all on-site services, as well as providing support to the DND regarding preventive maintenance and capital planning.
